The College Program

Written By: Sarah Smith

So, as some of you may know, Disney has a college program for Walt Disney World in Florida and Disneyland in California. It has been my dream to work there for YEARS. Like since I was about 12. I found out in my eighth grade year that Disney has a college program and since then I’ve been hooked. To be able to work at the happiest place on earth, whether it be in the outpost on Batuu, taking magical photos of guests, helping guests check into the Tower of Terror, helping Fairy Godmother run her Boutique, getting some backstage passes for the guests to see Aerosmith, or being friends with one of the characters, is a DREAM. Now that I am in my second semester of college I have the opportunity to help my dreams become reality.

To be a part of the Disney College Program, or DCP, you have to be completed at least 1 semester of college OR no more than 6 months post graduation of college. I have thought about applying and ultimately decided that it was best that I wait until I graduate… And then I watched videos and applications opened and here I am now. I am glad that I decided to apply but, if I’m being honest, I didn’t think I would make it past putting in my application. I passed my Web Based Interview (WBI) and scheduled my phone interview (PI). I am excited and feel extremely lucky to make it this far especially on my first time applying.

I wish everyone who is applying or has gotten accepted good luck and I can’t wait to blog about this journey because if I don’t get accepted this time then I will be applying again and I have a feeling that if I do get accepted I will do the program again.

See ya’ll soon!!
