Hi blog, it’s been a while. In my absence, a few different things have happened. My Disney College Program was cancelled, I switched schools, started a new job, and I just returned from a trip to Disney World with my boyfriend. Overall, this past year has been full of twists and turns and I am so thrilled to explain it all to you. I also hope to encourage some people who are scared about their future and to ease some minds as to what is really going on at Disney World during this troubling time.
I’d like to start off by discussing what happened with my Disney College Program. My program was cancelled due to COVID19. It was a heartbreaking day. This program has always been my dream because I have always wanted to work for Disney World. I am hoping that one day I will be given the opportunity to work for Disney again some day. I am determined that I will make this dream come true.
Because the College Program was cancelled and schools around me are still online, I decided to switch to a local community college for now. It is definitely better financially and I have time to focus on a job during the week as well. All of my classes are online and asynchronous which helps because I can work at my own pace. This has also brought a lot of conflict within me. Physically I am in my home where my family and friends are but mentally, mentally I am in Florida. Mentally, I am going to Disney World and taking photos, making youtube videos, writing about Disney, and helping people figure out vacation planning. I understand that I should be focused on making a future out of Psychology but something inside is telling me that this is not my future and is not the path I should be on. I want to make a career out of vlogging and blogging about Disney and, hopefully, eventually work for the company.
Speaking of working, I have a new job! It is absolutely fantastic. I will not disclose my place of work, however, I will say that is is magical. My work environment is amazing and I am given the ability to make magic for everyone who walks through the doors. I absolutely love it. It has definitely helped me cope with the cancellation of the College Program. I was even able to take a small break lately to help raise my spirits and celebrate.
You all probably know where I am going with this. Yes, I went to Disney World. Now, before the masses come and call me irresponsible I would like to share the lengths that Disney and the airports are going to keep everyone safe. The airports near me and in Orlando were constantly wiping everything down. They made sure everyone had masks up and stayed socially distant. When we arrived in Disney, everything was very clean and sanitized. There were cast members holding signs that reminded everyone to wear their masks properly and social distancing markers on the ground. Cast members were constantly around sanitizing everything and there were hand-washing stations everywhere and sanitization stations all over, including at the beginning and end of each ride and shop. I am going to go more in-depth on a specific post about my trip to Disney and the new travel process.
Overall, 2020 was a crazy year. It had some ups and plenty of downs for everyone. I can only hope that 2021 is better for everyone and personally it feels as though this year is better already. It has already been full of so much adventure and we are only 2 months in. This year is going to be full of ups and downs, confusion and clarity and I hope that you come along for the ride my friends.
